West Branch Rifle and Pistol Club owes its existence to the dedication and generosity of one man, Gordon J. Blackhall, and a few of his friends. They chartered and incorporated the club in 1955, on land then owned by Gordon Blackhall. After his passing, his daughter Ruth carried on that spirit of generosity, and dedication to the shooting sports. We thank her for assuring that West Branch still thrives today. Upon her own passing on May 12, 2008, Ruth's son, Kevin Billman, took on those responsibilities, and now serves ably on the Board of Directors. It is our hope that this website will help keep the memory and spirit of the Blackhalls and Billmans alive among our membership.

Few of us who are now members of West Branch had the privilege of knowing Gordon Blackhall, but one who did was Ralph Gerding, a past President of West Branch, current Range Officer, voluntary Club Historian, and officially certified OB.
